Sierra Negra Volcano boasts one of the largest volcanic calderas in the world (still active -- last eruption in 2018). This eco-friendly horseback tour starts in Puerto Villamil, riding through highlands and volcanic terrain to a viewpoint over the 7x9 km caldera, with the option to hike the lava fields of Volcan Chico afterward and a picnic lunch overlooking the caldera.
